Cochranton Man Killed in Route 173 Crash

MERCER CO., Pa. (EYT) — A Cochranton man was killed in a crash that occurred early this morning on State Route 173, in Millcreek Township, Mercer County.

According to a published article in The Meadville Tribune, around 1:14 a.m., 73-year-old Kenneth L. Anthony, of Cochranton, was traveling north on Route 173, near Urey School Road, and failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. His vehicle traveled off the roadway, struck a drainage ditch, and went airborne. The vehicle continued traveling north and then came to a final rest facing north on the berm.

Mercer County Coroner John Libonati pronounced Anthony dead a the scene.

He was not using a seat belt, according to police.
