Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, on April 12, 2017, PSP Franklin was contacted in reference to a theft that occurred at a property on Horsecreek Road, in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

The complaint states that upon Trooper Shiley’s arrival, it was related to him by the victim’s wife that two men had come to their residence around 3:45 p.m. on April 12 in a blue SUV. While there, one man entered the garage and removed two Echo weed eaters. While exiting the garage, the victim’s wife stopped the male and questioned his actions, since the garage was for her husband’s lawn care business. The perpetrator stated he was getting the tools for his boss and departed. It was later determined that the perpetrator was not employed by the victim. The driver of the vehicle was said to be wearing a cowboy hat and had dark hair.

On April 14, Trooper Shiley was contacted by a local pawn shop, stating that it was believed the suspect had come to their store on April 12 and inquired about selling power tools. Surveillance footage shows a male with a long pony tall get out of a dark-colored SUV and enter the store only long enough to make the inquiry and then leave, the complaint indicates.

On April 15, Trooper Shiley received a phone call with information on the driver of the SUV, the complaint continues.

On April 17, Trooper Shiley spoke to the known driver of the SUV. The man stated that he had been to that residence with Jason Thomas Poduszlo. The known driver also stated that Poduszlo had taken two weed eaters from the garage, according to the complaint.

Charges were filed against Poduszlo in Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office on December 14, 2017.
