Cold for Cause Polar Plunge Rescheduled for February 24

| January 10, 2018

FRANKLIN, Pa. – At the Venango County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, January 9, a new date for the Polar Plunge was determined.

The Polar Plunge that was postponed this past Saturday, January 6, has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 24, at Two Mile Run County Park.

The event is the first annual Cold for Cause Polar Plunge hosted by the Oil City YMCA and Two Mile Run County Park and will be held at Crosby Beach.

The idea of this event was formed to help raise money for the YMCA Annual Campaign to support local youth and to help the County make important improvements at the County Park.

The park will also hold a free learn to ski day in conjunction with the Venango County Fatherhood Initiative on Saturday, January 27.

With the warm up over the next couple of days, fishers are asked to check the ice before trying to ice fish as it may not be safe to do so.
