HARRISVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — A Harrisville man allegedly grabbed a woman by the throat and threw her down a set of steps following an argument.

According to court documents, Franklin-based State Police filed the following criminal charges against 41-year-old Bryan Maurice Hall, of Harrisville, on August 19:

– Strangulation — Blocking the Nose and Mouth of the Person, Felony 2
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2

The charges stem from an assault that occurred in the evening of August 18 at a residence in Harrisville, Venango County.

According to a criminal complaint filed by Trooper Siegel, of PSP Franklin, around 6:35 p.m. on August 18, he was dispatched to 8851 State Route 8 in Harrisville. He was rerouted to Grove City Hospital, as the victim was transported via ambulance.

Upon Trooper Siegel’s arrival at the hospital, he interviewed the victim who related that she and Hall were arguing and he grabbed her by the neck. She reported that during this time, she could not breathe, as Hall had cut off her air supply.

She also related that Hall then threw her down the steps causing bruising to her arm, legs, and face. She ran from the residence to Anchor’s Away and called 9-1-1 and then locked herself in a truck until the ambulance arrived.

Hall was arraigned at 10:46 a.m. on August 19 in front of Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland.

He is currently free on $10,000.00 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on September 4 in Venango County Central Court with Judge Kirtland presiding.
