Report of Gun Wielding Male Leads to Marijuana Bust in Franklin

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – An officer who was investigating a report of someone being threatened with a gun found marijuana in a Franklin residence.

Court documents indicate the following charges were filed against 18-year-old Donn Michael Fitzgerald, of Franklin, on Thursday, March 14:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Possession With Intent To Distribute Non-Controlled Substance Resembling Controlled Substance, Felony
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

According to a criminal complaint, on Wednesday, March 13, Patrolman Floor, of the Franklin Police Department, was dispatched to a residence on Taylor Street for a report of a male threatening someone with a gun.

The homeowner stated the only other occupant of the residence was Donn Fitzgerald and when Patrolman Floor asked if he could look around, the homeowner gave permission.

According to the complaint, upon looking in the master bedroom, a large amount of marijuana was observed in plain view. Thirty-three white pills suspected to be Gabapentin were also located.

Fitzgerald stated that the marijuana and Gabapentin belonged to him, according to the complaint.

He was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 14.

Unable to post $50,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20.
