Domestic Incident Leads to Drug Charges in Richland Township

RICHLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Two people were taken into custody on drug charges on Monday after state police were dispatched for a domestic incident on State Route 38, in Richland Township, Venango County.

Court documents indicate the Franklin-based State Police filed criminal charges against 42-year-old Michael Len Wile Jr. and 31-year-old Caroline Marie Keller, both of Hampden, ME.

According to a criminal complaint, on Monday, February 19, Caroline Marie Keller and Michael Len Wile Jr. had stopped the vehicle on Route 38, and Wile allegedly punched Keller in the face, causing a visible bruise. Keller managed to escape and fled in her vehicle. She contacted state police who met her in a driveway along Route 38 in Richland Township.

Keller was transported to UPMC Northwest for medical clearance. While at UPMC, Keller told one of the troopers that there was marijuana and possibly other drugs and paraphernalia in her vehicle. Keller granted the officer permission to search the vehicle, the complaint states.

Troopers searched the vehicle and found several bags containing marijuana and several items of paraphernalia including glass bowls, a scale, shears, and bags with marijuana residue.

Keller was arraigned at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 19, in Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland’s office on the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia

Keller was lodged in the Venango County Jail on $10,000.00 monetary bail on February 19. Her bail was posted on February 20.

Wile was arraigned at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19, in Judge Kirtland’s office on the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

Unable to post $15,000.00 cash bail, Wile remains lodged at the Venango County Jail.

Preliminary hearings are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, with Judge Kirtland presiding.
