CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Two men were arraigned on charges stemming from an incident earlier this week where they allegedly threatened a Cranberry Township man with a pistol after being refused permission to camp on his property.

Court documents indicate the Franklin-based State Police filed criminal charges against 23-year-old Forrest Gabriel Lee and 18-year-old Damon Dee Olson, both of Meadville.

According to a criminal complaint, around 12:21 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, Troopers Miller and Kephart responded to a residence on U.S. 322 for a report of an unknown male driving a silver car on the property with a gun making threats toward a known man.

The victim reported that he encountered a white male who at first had his hands up in the air, one holding a flashlight and one holding a black pistol the size of a 9mm. He said the man was wearing a flannel shirt, pants, and had stubble on his face.

The victim stated that the man asked if they could camp in the woods, to which he responded no, they could not. The victim reported the man then pointed the gun at him and made threats against his life.

The victim stated that he then went back inside his residence, and as he was calling 9-1-1, the silver car drove away. He also noted that there had been a second person at the trunk of the car.

Around 1:04 a.m., Troopers Miller and Kephart were inside a convenience store in Franklin when Trooper Kephart noticed an individual wearing a flannel shirt.

The man approached Trooper Kephart and said, “I’m not going to hurt you. Stop staring at me because I’m not going to hurt you,” according to the complaint.

Trooper Kephart then went outside and found a silver car with another occupant, later identified as Damon Dee Olson, in the passenger seat.

While outside, the man in the flannel shirt identified himself as Forest Lee and stated they were from Meadville and were looking for a place to camp. Lee also said they stopped at a person’s house and asked him if they could stay. He said when they were told no, they left.

According to the complaint, when Trooper Kephart and some members of the Franklin Police Department told Olson to exit the car so it could be searched, Olson locked some of the doors and refused to exit the vehicle.

Upon a search of the vehicle, police found a Highpoint C9 9mm handgun in the glovebox. A glass smoking pipe was also found on Lee’s person.
