Convicted Sex Offender Waives Hearing on Charges Related to Failure to Inform Authorities of Facebook Account

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – A registered sex offender living in Oil City recently waived a preliminary hearing on charges related to failure to provide required information for his Megan’s Law registration.

According to court documents, the following charges against 28-year-old Mark Allen Deluca, of Oil City, were waived for court on Wednesday, August 12:

– Failure to Register with PSP, Felony 3 (two counts)

Charges have been transferred to the Venango County Court of Common Pleas.

Unable to post $30,000.00 cash bail, Deluca remains lodged in the Venango County Jail.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, on Saturday, August 8, Patrolman Deloe, of the Oil City Police Department, was provided information from Pennsylvania State Probation and Parole that Mark Deluca, who is required to register and abide by Megan’s Law registration requirements, failed to provide information required.

According to the complaint, Deluca had created an email account and a facebook account and failed to update and add the accounts as required.

Deluca registration began on September 2, 2014.

It was last updated on August 10, 2018.

In August of 2014, Deluca pleaded guilty to one first-degree misdemeanor count of attempted indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age and one first-degree misdemeanor count of indecent exposure and was sentenced to six years probation.
