Cooperstown Man Accused of Inappropriately Touching Young Girls Waives Hearing

GavelOAKLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Cooperstown man who allegedly inappropriately touched two young girls waived his preliminary hearing this week.

Court documents indicate the following charges against 48-year-old Neil Anthony Truhar, of Cooperstown, were waived for court on Wednesday, December 5:

  • Corruption of Minors – Defendant Age 18 or Above, Felony 3 (two counts)
  • Indecent Assault Person Unconscious, Misdemeanor 1 (two counts)
  • Indecent Exposure, Misdemeanor 1
  • Indecent Assault Without Consent of Other, Misdemeanor 2 (two counts)
  • Indecent Assault Person Less Than 16 Years Age, Misdemeanor 2 (two counts)
  • Sell/Furnish Stimulants to Minors, Summary (two counts)

The charges have been transferred to the Venango County Court of Common Pleas.

Truhar remains lodged in the Venango County Jail pending $15,000.00 monetary bail.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, on Tuesday, November 13, it was reported to the Pennsylvania State Police that Neil Anthony Truhar had inappropriate contact with two young girls.

It was reported that he touched the victims’ feet and other body parts with his penis over the last few years.

According to the complaint, one of the victims reported one instance in which, the victim awoke to Truhar rubbing his bare penis on her feet. The victim reported that similar incidents had occurred multiple times, with the most recent occurring approximately two weeks earlier.

The victim reported that during the most recent incident, Truhar got on top of her and “started humping” her buttocks and related that Truhar had removed his pants and underwear during the incidents, according to the complaint.

Based on the investigation, Truhar was arraigned on Friday, November 16, in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office.
