Cooperstown Man Faces Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop in Cranberry Township

CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Cooperstown man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop in Cranberry Township.

According to court documents, on October 18, Franklin-based State Police filed the following criminal charges against 23-year-old Levi Allen Woodcock, of Cooperstown:

  • Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
  • Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 1:55 a.m. on July 22, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle in the vicinity of the 800 Block of Allegheny Avenue in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

During the course of the traffic stop, Trooper Seybert, of the Franklin-based State Police, stated that the distinct odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Levi Allen Woodcock was seated in the front passenger seat.

According to the complaint, when Trooper Seybert asked Woodcock and the driver about the odor, Woodcock stated that he had approximately a quarter pound of marijuana in a backpack located in the rear passenger seat of the vehicle.

Trooper Seybert then conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and located the backpack and found a glass Mason jar containing a vacuum style bag containing marijuana.

Based on the investigation, Woodcock was arraigned at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 19, in Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office.

He is free on $5,000.00 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, with Judge Lowrey presiding.
