Cora “Mickey” Bailey, 86, of Rimersburg, PA, passed away suddenly Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born August 23, 1931, in Rimersburg, PA, the daughter of Madge (Summerville) Anick.

Cora was a lifelong resident of Rimersburg and a member of Jerusalem United Church of Christ.

She was known for being an independent woman and the ultimate homemaker.

Cora kept a spotless house and always mowed her own grass.

Baking was one of her many gifts and her buns were her specialty.

She had a gift of hospitality and loved having company, and those who visited never left hungry.

She was a gifted quilter and made beautiful applique and piecework by hand. In her free time, she enjoyed swinging on her porch while watching and feeding the birds.

Cora also loved getting on Facebook and Facetiming with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cora will be deeply missed by her sons, Bill (Debbie) Bailey, of Milton, FL, and Kevin (Annette) Bailey, of Cedar Falls, IA; daughter, Sally (Brad) George, of Rimersburg; son-in-law, Don Edwards, of Willow Springs, NC; grandchildren, Billy (Lisa) Bailey, Molly (Sam) Jaber, Justin (Sara) Bailey, Josh (Hannah) Bailey, Melissa (Steve) Masoner, and Duane (Nicole) George; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, Joe (Beverly) Summerville, of Everett, PA.

She was preceded in death by her mother; loving husband, Clarence R. Bailey, whom she married March 6, 1948 and who died December 18, 2010; daughter, Connie Edwards; brothers, Stan Anick and Dale Summerville; sisters, Margaret Crissman, Elsie Kunkle, Ethel Stupka, Sally Day, Joanne Croyle, Betty Kriebel, Kathy Zimoski; and one infant brother.

A memorial service will take place at 10 AM on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 527 Main St., Rimersburg, with the Rev. Dr. John Gareis officiating.

Burial will be in Rimersburg Cemetery, Rimersburg, PA.
