Cornelia “Ceya” O’Neill

CeyaCornelia “Ceya” O’Neill of Clark, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 12:59 p.m. in the ICU of Sharon Regional Health Systems. She was 77.

She was born on August 29, 1938 in Oil City, the daughter of the late George S. and Elizabeth Norris Selden.

Ceya was a 1956 graduate of Oil City High School, following high school, Ceya attended Westminster College.

Mrs. O’Neill retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. Earlier in life, she performed secretarial duties for the Sharon Steel Corporation and the Oil City School District.

She was a member of St. Jude’s Episcopal Church, Redeemer Ministry Center. Ceya was very active in the YMCA Girls & Boys Line Dancers and enjoyed reading and traveling. Most importantly she cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. Her son, daughters and grandchildren meant the world to her. She will be remembered as a kind person who loved life to the fullest.

Her first husband, Ronald Mortimer, passed away in 1991; her second husband, Daniel J. O’Neill, passed away in 2012.

She is survived by her son, Darin B. Mortimer and his wife Margaret of Charlotte, NC; 3 daughters, Peggy Barnes and her husband Larry of Oak Creek, Colo, Candace Blake and her friend Richard Neely of Greenville, and Juliane McCandless and her husband Jeffrey of Washington DC; 2 sisters Margaret Holmes of Big Canoe, GA, Elizabeth Crowther and her husband Ernie of Seneca, PA; 6 grandchildren, Brady and Quentin Mortimer, Jennifer Lopez, Carrie Youngcourt, Brittney Deras, and Halley Arena; 5 great grandchildren, Elizabeth Deeter, Gage Watterson, Natalia, Katrina, and Bella Deras; 2 cousins, Edwin V. Selden and his wife Deb, Joseph B. Selden and his wife Joan.

Ceya was preceded in death by her parents and 2 husbands.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon, PA 16146.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Jude’s Episcopal Church, Redeemer Ministry Center with Rev. Canon Dennis Blauser and Pastor Jason Shank officiating.

Internment will take placed in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
