County Hopes to Open Recycling Center in Cranberry

| April 11, 2018

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – Venango County is seeking state funding to purchase equipment for a proposed recycling center in Cranberry.

At their regular meeting on Tuesday, the Venango County Commissioners authorized the county Planning Commission to apply for a $350,000.00 grant through the Department of Environmental Protection to be utilized for developing a recycling facility in the Cranberry Township area.

The grant, if received, would go towards buying equipment needed to the center, although not many details are available on the possible center.

“The state has money available to start county recycling centers,” Abramovic said.

Officials have discussed the possibility of leasing a building from Cranberry School District as part of the facility.

Planning for the project is contingent upon approval of the grant.
