Couple Face Charges Following Domestic Altercation Involving Death Threats

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – Two Oil City residents are facing charges following a domestic incident in which they are both accused of physical assault and making death threats toward each other.

Court documents indicate the Oil City Police Department filed criminal charges against 56-year-old John Kevin Quick and 39-year-old Sharon L. Pascorell, both of Oil City.

According to a criminal complaint, around 12:09 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, Patrolman McDevitt, of the Oil City Police Department, was informed by a witness that John Quick and Sharon Pascorell were involved in a verbal and physical argument at a residence on Crawford Street in Oil City.

The complaint states that Pascorell stated that Quick had slapped her across the face, leaving a red mark, and her statement was confirmed by a witness.

According to the complaint, Quick admitted to telling Pascorell he was going to “cut her throat,” but stated he only said so after Pascorell threatened to “kill him while he was sleeping.”

According to a second complaint, during the altercation, Pascorell shoved and struck Quick on the neck and chest area, leaving apparent marks, and also threatened to stab him while he was sleeping.

The complaint also notes that both Quick and Pascorell were given a warning by officers ten hours prior for the same activity at the same residence.

Quick was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey at 2:05 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, on the following charges:

– Terroristic Threats With Intent to Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 3
– Disorderly Conduct Engage in Fighting, Misdemeanor 3

Pascorell was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, June 10, on the following charges:

– Terroristic Threats With Intent to Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 3
– Disorderly Conduct Engage in Fighting, Misdemeanor 3
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

Both defendants remain free on $5,000.00 unsecured bail each.

Quick is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, in Venango County Central Court.

A preliminary hearing for Pascorel is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, with Judge Lowrey presiding.
