Charges Withdrawn in Case Against Oil City Couple Accused of Child Neglect

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Charges filed against Oil City parents who were accused of child neglect have been withdrawn.

According to court documents, criminal charges against 29-year-old Cassandra Renee Whitmore-Stoltenburg and 40-year-old Matthew Scott Stoltenburg were withdrawn on May 23.

They were each facing one third-degree felony charge of Endangering Welfare of Children-Parent/Guardian/Other Commits Offense.

The couple was accused of failing to provide proper hygiene care for a nine-year-old girl.

Additionally, the couple each had a summary charge of Violation of Compulsory Attendance Required by a Parent dismissed May 31, 2017, relating to a September 22, 2016 incident, according to court documents.
