craig-o-connor-obituaryCraig O’Connor, 67 of Franklin passed away Saturday morning March 15, 2014 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca, following a lengthy illness.

Born May 16, 1946 in Franklin, he was the son of Charlotte Dodd O’Connor and the late Dalton O’Connor.

He was a 1964 graduate of Franklin High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh and Robert Morris University.

Craig loved boating at Conneaut Lake, hunting and was also a dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Craig was a kind and admirable man who liked people and people liked him.

He worked for AIG in the Pittsburgh area and then was transferred to the Cleveland area. Upon returning to Franklin, he formed his own company, O’Connor Sign and Equipment. He then began to build his real estate business, CRO Enterprises that offered rental units throughout the area.

He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin.

Craig is survived by his wife, Lorna O’Connor of Franklin.

Also surviving in addition to his mother is a sister, Shirley Fagley and her husband Richard of New Bethlehem; three nieces, Christie Svolos and her husband George of Oil City, Brenda Henry and her husband Joe of New Bethlehem, and Barbara Avarello and her husband Brian of Hinckley, OH; six great nieces; a step son, Robert McClimans of New York, NY and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elaine and J. Robert Moore of Clarion.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Craig Ryan O’Connor and a great-nephew, Nicholas Avarello.

Family and friends are welcome Tuesday from 3-7 P.M. at Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sam Wagner, Associate Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery.

Memorial contributions, if desired may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
