CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – A fire at the Cranberry Mall Sunday afternoon prompted an evacuation of the facility, with four fire departments responding to the scene and another four on standby.

Venango County 911 reports receiving a 3:01 p.m. call reporting a fire at the Cranberry Mall.

Seneca, Emlenton, Rockland, and Oil City fire departments were dispatched to the scene.

Franklin, Pinegrove, Reno, and Rocky Grove fire departments and Community Ambulance were on standby in case they were needed.

Sources say the fire was caused by a malfunctioning air conditioning unit, but it was contained before firemen arrived on scene.

Venango County 911 said all agencies reported back in at their respective stations by 4:32 p.m.
