CRANBERRY, Pa. (EYT) — A joint investigation has lead to the arrest of a Venango County man accused of soliciting nude photos from a 13-year-old girl.

The following charges were filed against Clifford Wayne Schall, 28, of Cranberry, on Monday at Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office:

  • Photograph/Film/Depict on Computer Sex Act — Knowingly or Permitting Child, Felony 2 (6 counts)
  • Criminal Solicitation — Photograph/Film/Depict on Computer Sex Act — Knowingly or Permitting Child, Felony 2
  • Unlawful Contact With Minor — Sexual Offenses, Felony 2
  • Criminal Use Of Communication Facility, Felony 3
  • Corruption of Minors, Misdemeanor 1

According to a criminal complaint filed by Tpr. Philip Shaffer of the Pennsylvania State Police Northwest Computer Crime Task Force, the investigation was initiated on October 20 after the task force received a “CyberTip” from Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) analyst Nate Evans.

Cpl. Bernard Novak reviewed the tip which indicated that Facebook had reported messages were exchanged between a 13-year-old female and Clifford Schall.

Information provided by Facebook indicated that Schall and the victim exchanged several messages between October 1 and October 19.

During this time, the victim sent Schall at least five nude images and one nude video of herself, the complaint said.

The messages also revealed that Schall allegedly attempted to meet with the victim to have sex with her. The two had planned to meet on October 21, the criminal complaint said.

Facebook was able to provide identifying information about Schall, including his email address, phone number, and IP address.

On October 20, Tpr. Shaffer interviewed the victim and she indicated that Schall is a relative of a friend.

The victim told police that she first met Schall approximately one year ago, according to the criminal complaint.

She stated that the two discussed “meeting up to have sex” and that Schall requested she send nude photos of herself via Facebook Messenger.

The girl’s mother gave Tpr. Shaffer permission to seize her cellular phone and also provided written consent for a search of the phone.

On October 21, Tpr. Joseph Streyle extracted conversations from the phone that confirmed Schall asked the girl to “send lots of pictures to him.” He also allegedly made statements about having sex with the victim “when they meet up.”

During an October 23 interview with Tpr. Shaffer, Schall confessed to communicating with the victim, the complaint said.

Police say he admitted to telling the victim to send him several nude pictures of herself. Schall also admitted to sending pictures of his genitals to the victim, the complaint said.

Schall was arraigned before Judge Lowrey on October 23 at 6:30 p.m.

He was remanded to the Venango County Jail after failing to post $50,000 cash bail.

A preliminary hearing is slated for November 1 at 8:30 a.m. in Venango County Central Court.
