CRANBERRY, Pa. (EYT) — The Cranberry Education Association voted Tuesday to ratify the tentative agreement on a new union contract with the Cranberry Area School District.

The association issued the following statement late Tuesday afternoon:

“This afternoon, the members of the Cranberry Education Association voted overwhelmingly in favor of accepting the tentative agreement reached by the negotiations teams for the Association and the District. Our members are pleased that we will have a successor agreement in place as we look forward to the beginning of the 2018-19 school year.”

“We would like to recognize our Cranberry students for another remarkable year and would especially like to congratulate the members of the Senior Class for their achievement in earning their high school diplomas. Our staff has been honored to work with the Seniors these past 12 years and are eager to learn of the many successes that await them as they continue their lives beyond the Cranberry classrooms. Well done.”

The tentative agreement was reached on May 23 after nearly five hours of negotiations between the association and the district.
