Cranberry Trio Reach District 9 Wrestling Semifinals

Cranberry has three wrestlers in the semifinals and in the running for district titles.

At 138 pounds, sophomore CJ Shreffler had two pins to reach the semifinals and in the process, claim his 20th win.

Senior Josh Hancock (30-3) needed 2:41 to pin his opponent and reach the semifinals.

Berries 285-pounder Timmy McCauley made it a trio in the semifinals as he needed a scant 31 second to score two pins and improve to 16-5.

Saturday, the semifinals begin at 10:30 a.m. with two rounds of consolations.

At 3:30 p.m., the Parade of Champions and District 9 Hall of Fame presentation will be done.

The finals and consolation finals begin at 4:00 p.m.

The top four finishers in each weight class qualify for the 2A Northwest Regional Tournament in Sharon March 3-4. A team trophy will also be awarded.

Tickets are $3.00 for students and $6.00 for adults.

Food, snacks, and beverages will be available for purchase at the Clearfield Area High School cafeteria.
