FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — A Cranberry woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing $28,000.00 in jewelry while employed at a private residence in Franklin.

Franklin Police say 59-year-old Patricia A. Clark, of Cranberry, was arrested on March 4 following an investigation involving theft of jewelry.

Clark was employed by a private person as a household cleaner. The owner of the residence alerted police when several items of jewelry were missing, police say.

After an investigation, Clark was allegedly found to have stolen several valuable pieces of jewelry that were valued by a local jeweler to total nearly $28,000.00, according to police.

Clark allegedly stole the jewelry between August of 2014 through February of 2015 and later sold the items in Seneca as scrap gold, according to police.

It is alleged that Clark received $4,900.00 in return following the sale of the stolen items, police say.

Clark was arrested and arraigned before Justice Snyder on the following offenses:

– Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Felony 3
– Receiving Stolen Property, Misdemeanor 1

Unable to post $25,000.00 bail, she was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on March 11 in Venango County Central Court in front of Magisterial District Judge Michael D Snyder.
