Cranberry’s Marterella and Gunn Make D9 Golf Cut

ST. MARYS, Pa. (D9Sports) — A pair of Cranberry golfers made the cut for Saturday’s District 9 Class 2A championship second round after carding at least a 90 in the opening round Monday at Bavarian Hills Golf Course in St. Marys.

The Berries Nathan Marterella sits in an 11th-place tie with an 88, while teammate Andrew Gunn just got in under the wire shooting a 90. Gunn sits in a 16th-place tie.

A-C Valley/Union also got two golfers to Saturday with Ethan Nevel sitting in a sixth-place tie with Moniteau’s Weston Kimmey after both golfers shot an 85, and Kolby Montgomery is in a tie for ninth-place with DuBois Central Catholic’s Austen Cogley with both golfers having carded an 87.

Also Monday, Ridgway edged Punxsutawney, 350-354, to win its fourth straight District 9 Class 2A team title.
