Two Vehicle Crash Occurs in Cranberry Township as Driver Fails to Stop at Stop Sign

CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — According to Franklin-based State Police, a two-vehicle crash occurred as a driver failed to stop for a stop sign in Cranberry Twp., Venango Co., Pa.

Police say around 4:00 p.m. on July 24, 2012, 19-year-old Joel R. Hetrick of Seneca, Pa., was driving his 2011 Silverado Chevrolet southbound on Tarklin Road and failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection of Hill City Road.

Hetrick’s vehicle struck a 1998 Silverado Chevrolet operated by 57-year-old Dennis E. Haag of Clintonville, Pa.; both vehicles were towed from the scene.

No injuries were found at the scene, including the two teenage passengers in Hetrick’s vehicle.

Hetrick was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and a seatbelt violation.

The Seneca Fire Department assisted at the scene.
