Crews Battle Structure Fire at Shippenville Apartment Complex

SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — Crews battled a structure fire late Monday morning at The Cricket Inn along Route 322 in Shippenville, Clarion County.

The fire broke out around 10:40 a.m at The Cricket Inn, a single level apartment complex located at 8818 Route 322.

Reports from the scene by exploreClarion.com’s Daniel Pesina indicate that heavy smoke and flames were showing in the area of apartment number 7 as of 11:20 a.m.

At 11:29 a.m., Shippenville-Elk Volunteer Fire Department reported that the fire was under control. The scene was cleared a short time later.

Initial reports indicated possible entrapment in one of the apartments; however, the building was evacuated and everyone was accounted for.

Knox Volunteer Fire Department, Clarion Fire & Hose Company No. 1, Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department, Shippenville Ambulance, and Knox Ambulance responded to the scene.
