Dale D. Shaw

Dale D. Shaw, 76, of Rt. 208, Kennerdell, passed away August 26, 2014 at his home at 8:30 pm after a brief period of illness.

Born March 16 1938 in Clinton Township on his family farm in Venango County he was the son of Frank D. Shaw and Ester G. Shaw. Dale married Pamela J. Shaw on April 17, 1965, she survives.

Dale graduated from Victory Joint High School in 1955. He attended Tarkeo College in Topeka Kansas where he received his business management degree and attended American University while in the United State Air Force, Dale was enlisted in the Air Force September 1960 discharged in 1964. Dale worked at the C.P.T. in Franklin, Pa. from 1965 to 1980 in Management, and retired from the Farm Service Agency representing Venango, Clarion and Warren Counties in 1999 as County Executive.

Dale also owned and operated the family farm up to present day. He enjoyed helping his family in raising fresh produce of which they sold at the family produce stand for many years just outside of Clintonville, Pa. Dale traveled extensively throughout the United States with his family. Dale was presently a supervisor for Clinton Township.

He was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church, Clintonville, Pa. and has been an elder of the church for many years along with serving on the property committee he also was a trustee for the church. He also served on the Pastor Committee in obtaining ministers when the ministers would retire Dale also served on the board of farm bureau and the soil conservation district in Venango County.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his 2 daughters Lisa E. Ace and her husband Stephen E. of New Jersey and Anita K. Sapp and her husband James S. of Grove City; 3 grandchildren Caroline M. Ace of New Jersey, Rebecca A. Ace of New Jersey and Emily G. Sapp of Grove City; 3 sisters Dorothy B. Heckathorn and her husband Willard of Franklin, Erla A. McDermott and her husband Charles of Ohio, Rhonda F. Cubbon and her husband Arthur of Oil City; 2 brothers Dr. Lloyd E. Shaw and his wife Mary of ILL, Alton G. Shaw of Colorado.

Proceeded in death by his parents and one brother William H. Shaw, he passed away July 9, 2005.

The family will receive friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street, Clintonville PA in Friday August 29, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral service will take place at the Union Presbyterian Church, 409 Emlenton Street, Clintonville on Saturday August 30, 2014 at 11:00 am with a hour of visitation prior to the funeral service, Rev. Tony Catullo from the church officiating.

Interment will take place at the Clintonville Methodist Cemetery. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Union Presbyterian Church, 409 Emlenton Street, Clintonville PA 16372.
