Dallas “Pete” Skinner

Dallas “Pete” Ray Skinner of Brookville passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2015 at the Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital.

Mr. Skinner was born on Dec 12, 1938 in Lawrenceburg, TN, a son of the late Ralph and Ada Violet (Schreckengost) Skinner of Baxter.

Pete was a dedicated husband married to his beautiful wife, Patricia Jean (Sarvey) Skinner for 54 years. Patricia survives him.

Pete was an active member of the community and a member of the Brookville Fireman’s Club for many years. In his personal life, he especially loved hunting, camping, riding four-wheelers, and boating. Perhaps Pete’s greatest passion in life was spending time with his family whom he loved dearly.

Surviving relatives include his wife Patricia; three children, Dallas Skinner Jr., and his wife Becky of Vonore, TN; Donald Skinner of Brookville; and a daughter, Sherry Barnett of Brookville. Pete is also survived by two brothers, Charles Schreckengost and his wife Linda of Erie; Clifford Schreckengost of Brookville; and a sister, Catherine Harriger and her husband Wesley of Brookville. Pete is survived by five grandchildren, Stephen Skinner; Stefanie Wells; Richard Smyers; Nikki Barnett; and Chase Bish. He is also survived by one great-granddaughter, Chloe Woodling.

Preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Vicki Sarvey and a sister, Barb Himes.

Friends will be received from 6 – 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Brenda Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Brookville.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March, 5 at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at the United Methodist Church Cemetery in Emerickville.

Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Skinner’s memory to the Brookville YMCA.
