Daniel C. Barger, 84, of Emlenton, PA, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 27, 1933, in Petrolia, PA, the son of Harry S. and Florence B. (McGinnis) Barger.

Daniel graduated from Fairview Twp. High School in 1952 and honorably served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked at Witco for 42 years, retiring in October of 1994. In his younger years, he loved dancing and later liked bowling and watching NASCAR. Daniel also enjoyed spending time at the Emlenton Plaza, drinking coffee and socializing.

His memory will be cherished by his sons, Timothy D. Barger and wife, Marta, of Chicora, and Charles R. Barger and wife, Jolynn of Knox; daughters, Patricia L. Pilzak, of Sharpsburg, and Vicky L. McCord and husband, Jim, of Parker; grandchildren, Katrina, Tyler, Kyle, Reese, Kylie, Elaina, Andrew, Sara and Mark; and great-grandchildren, Nico and Ashley.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Ashley McCord; brothers, Harry and Paul Barger; and sister, Alice Mae Snyder.

Relatives and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 102 S. Argyle St., Petrolia, PA

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia, PA.
