Daniel J. Driscoll, 96, of Oil City, died at 12:10 pm, Monday, October 20, 2014, at the Golden Living Center-Oil City

Born September 18, 1918 in Oil City, he was a son of the late James and Anna Krietner Driscoll.

Mr. Driscoll was a 1936 graduate of Oil City High School.

He served in the US Navy during WW II.

Mr. Driscoll had worked at Worthington, and retired from Oil Well Supply.

He was a member of St Stephen Church.

Mr. Driscoll enjoyed the Friday Night Mixed Doubles Bowling League for 30 years.

He was married in 1942 to the former Arlene E. Dempsey, who survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Marlene Michael and husband Gary of Oil City; a son, John Driscoll and wife Patricia of Birmingham AL; five grandchildren, Kimberly Woods of Rocky Grove, William Woods of Grove City, Amy Seigworth and husband Matthew of Oil City, Daniel Joseph Driscoll II of Durham NC, and Lindsey Anne Driscoll of Birmingham AL; and three great grandchildren, Kylie Woods, Shawn Woods and Jenna Seigworth.

Also surviving are two sisters, Erma Kirchner of Ashtabula OH and Joan Garbacz of Oil City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by four brothers, James Driscoll, Robert Driscoll, Jack Driscoll and Francis Driscoll, and four sisters, Margaret Sustak, Anna Jane Burgi, Marie Flowers and Noreen Dickinson.

Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 2 pm Saturday with the Rev. Matthew Ruyechan, officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Second Century Fund at St. Stephen Church or the Activity Fund at Golden Living Center-Oil City.
