David F. Dittman, Sr., 81, passed away, Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 3:20 AM in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Indiana.

David was born April 19, 1931, in Clarion County, Pennsylvania to Clifford Eugene and Rachel Lilly (Brothers) Dittman.

David enlisted into the United States Army November 13, 1952 in Clarion, Pennsylvania and served during the Korean War. Cpl. David F. Dittman was honorably discharged September 13, 1954 through Fort Meade, Maryland.

He moved to Warsaw in 1984 from St. Petersburg, Pennsylvania and was a member of Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49. He was employed by Creighton Brothers for 21 years retiring in 2008.

Survivors include 2 sons: David F. Dittman, Jr., Warsaw and Steven Dittman of Nappanee, Indiana; 2 daughters and a son-in-law: Nita L. and Roger Waggoner of Russellville, Indiana and Norma Taylor of Norborne, Missouri; brother and sister-in-law: Wayne and Kathryn Dittman of Saint Petersburg, Pennsylvania; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by son: Bill Dittman (November 1, 1985); his parents: Clifford and Rachel Dittman; 2 brothers: Louis Dittman and John Dittman; 2 sisters: Esther Brodock (March 31, 1997) and Ruby Sollinger (January 7, 1997);

Family and friends will share a time of remembering and conversation Monday, December 17th from 5-8 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, Indiana. A service celebrating the life of David F. Dittman, Sr. will take place Tuesday December 18th beginning at 10 AM in the funeral home. Rev. Bob Brown of God’s Highway to heaven will officiate. Burial will follow in Harrison Center Cemetery, Etna Green, Indiana where military honors will be given by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126.

The family has asked that memorial contributions be given to Our Father’s House, 401 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana 46580.
