Delores “Dee” Young

Delores “Dee” Young, 82, of Miola, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018, surrounded by her family at her home.

She was born on July 24, 1935, in DuBois; daughter of the late Kenneth and Alice B. Johnston Flanders.

Dee graduated from DuBois High School.

Dee worked for Penn Traffic in DuBois. She also worked for Crooks Clothing in Clarion and retired as manager of Matthew’s Hallmark in Clarion. She was of the Lutheran Faith.

Dee was a member of the American Legion Post #66 of Clarion. She enjoyed her winters at Magnolia Manor in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Dee also enjoyed decorating, bike riding, and spending time with her family.

Dee is survived by her partner of 34 years, Thomas Howe of Miola, a daughter, Karen DeLoia and her husband Tony of Treasure Lake, a son, Kevin Brubaker of DuBois, seven grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, and a brother, Kenneth “Bud” Flanders, Jr. and his wife Beverly of DuBois.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Gary Brubaker.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 13, 2018, in the Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Evans, pastor of the Clarion Forest VNA Hospice. Interment will be held in the Scotch Hill Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to a Cancer Charity of one’s choice.
