Dennis L. Ortz, 61, of Fairmount City, died Tuesday evening, August 28, 2018, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born on September 11, 1956, in Deanville, he was a son of Merle and Shirley (Kunselman) Ortz.

He was married on June 2, 2012, to M. Louise (Dinger) Ortz and she survives. He is also survived by his mother, Shirley Ortz of New Bethlehem, three children, Chastity Adams and Michael Re of New Bethlehem, Courtney Ortz of Lexington, Kentucky, and Bradley Ortz and his wife Courtney of New Bethlehem, two step sons, Tom Troup and his wife Anna and Bill Troup and his wife Kim both of New Bethlehem, eleven grandchildren, two sisters, Carol Hannold of Fairmount City and Susan Lloyd of New Bethlehem, and three brothers, Jim Ortz of Templeton, Larry Ortz and his wife Amy of Fairmount City, and Chris Rupp and his wife Shannon of Putneyville.

Dennis was a member of the Harley Dressers and enjoyed riding his Harley. He worked for Astro Home’s in Shippenville for 32 years. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his father, Merle Ortz.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 31, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Lyle Westover officiating.
