Derek BlackDerek Lee “Jr.” Black, Jr. 36 of Oil City passed away unexpectedly at UPMC Presbyterian in Pgh. surrounded by his family.

Born in Oil City, PA., on June 17, 1980 son of Cindy and James Kitelinger and Derek L. Black Sr.

Jr. attended Oil City Schools and obtained his GED later in life.

He was a Christian and will forever be remembered for his love and loyalty shown to all who knew him.

Jr. had a love for music, video games and fishing. Being surrounded by his family and friends at social gatherings was truly his passion.

Surviving are his two beloved children Destinee Sheffer and Zander Black of Oil City.

Amanda Sheffer mother of his children and lifelong friend also survives along with his mother and step-father Cindy and James Kitelinger and Derek L. Black Sr. his father all of Oil City.

His sister Charlotte Hood and her husband Carlos of Oil City. His brother Jason ( Jake ) Black and his girlfriend Crystal Breck of Oil City. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and a nephew Max, a niece Taylor and a great niece Mollie also survive along with a very close friend Clifton McCloud.

He was preceded by his maternal grandparents Barney and Laura Foster and paternal grandmother Margaret Resinger.

Junior will live on through others, as he chose to be an organ donor.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. Time and Date will be announced.
