Dernetta Ann “Dee” Nelson, 68, of Redwood Rd., Karns City, passed away early Friday morning, October 2, 2015 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Dernetta was born in Sewickley on February 17, 1947. She was the daughter of Edward Mullen and Margaret Dillon Mangelli.

Prior to retirement, Dee had been employed as a grocery store manager. She enjoyed the company of family and friends and was especially fond of her dog, Iggy.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas E. Nelson, whom she married in Las Vegas, NV on December 5, 1991. Also surviving are three sons, Paul Bojanac, John Bojanac, and Chad Bojanac, as well as a number of grandchildren.

Private arrangements are under the direction of Hile Funeral Home of Karns City.
