The first I-80 East crash occurred around 3:02 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, near mile marker 32.

Franklin-based State Police say 32-year-old Benjamin E. Nixon, of Brookville, and 52-year-old David Kavleli, of Brooklyn, New York, were involved in the collision.

According to police, this crash happened as a 2013 Dodge Durango, driven by Nixon, was traveling east on I-80, east of mile marker 32. Nixon’s Durango hit Kavleli’s 2016 Freightliner as the tractor trailer was slowing down for an upcoming construction zone.
