Dianne Shreckengost

Dianne DuBois Schreckengost, Brookville’s Angel Lady, joined the angels on Monday, June 23, 2014.

Dianne was born June 16, 1951 to the late B. Maitland DuBois Jr. and Marilyn DuBois who currently resides in Oklahoma City, OK.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 41 years, Vernon Schreckengost, her daughter Dana Schreckengost and her daughter’s fiancé Chase Shick.

Dianne was the middle child, survived by brother B. Maitland DuBois III (wife Jenny), and sister Marilyn VanAken (husband Cary). She has numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins as well.

Dianne graduated from Brookville High School in 1969. Upon graduation Dianne worked for Nationwide Insurance, BB&T, and finally Wes Kings where she ultimately met her husband.

Later in life she took up the hobby of stained glass which blossomed into a small self-sufficient business. She earned her title “Brookville’s Angel Lady” by making a different design of stained glass angel each year for 15 years and donating the proceeds to the Cancer Society.

She had a big heart with such a sunny disposition. Her friends will remember her for the many get well cards and thank you notes that she produced. It was often said that “She should have worked for Hallmark.”

Dianne was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church where she was baptized, married, and now buried.

A service will be led by Pastor Robert Rigg at Brookville’s Holy Trinity Episcopal Church on July 19, 2014 at 1:00pm.

A charitable donation may be made to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church located at 62 Pickering Street, Brookville, PA 15825.

Arrangements are under the direction of McKinney Funeral Home, 345 Main St. Brookville, Pa. 15825
