District 10 Releases Baseball Playoff Brackets; Rocky Grove, Franklin in Top Spots

ERIE, Pa. (EYT) – District 10 released its 2018 baseball playoff brackets Wednesday with Rocky Grove and Franklin holding what amount to top seeds in their respective tournaments.

Rocky Grove, who has won two straight District 10 titles – one in Class 1A and one in Class 2A – is the defacto No. 1 seed in the preseeded Class 2A bracket as the No. 1 team out of Region 1, while Franklin earns the defacto No. 1 seed in the preseeded Class 3A bracket as the No. 1 team out of Region 2.

Both squads will get byes into the quarterfinals with Rocky Grove taking on the winner of the Cochranton/Lakeview game at 1 p.m. Monday at Slippery Rock University and Franklin battling Fairview at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Ainsworth Field in Erie.

Meanwhile, in Class 4A, Oil City is the sixth-place team out of Region 5 and the Oilers will face Fort LeBoeuf in an opening-round game at Fort LeBoeuf Friday.
