District Wrestling Championships to be Held at Clearfield Area High School

HYDE, Pa. (D9Sports) — The District 9 Class AA and District 4-9 Class AAA Wrestling Championships will be held February 23-24 at Clearfield Area High School.

In Class AA, wrestling begins at 4 p.m., Friday, February 23 with a preliminary round on all three mats in the gymnasium.

The action continues at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 24 with the semifinals on three mats. Third- and fourth-round consolations will follow.

At 3:30 p.m., the parade of champions and Hall of Fame ceremony will be held.

The finals and consolation finals will begin at 4 p.m. and will be held on two mats.

Gates open one hour prior to the beginning of each session.

Tickets are $3 for students and $6 for adults. For all-sessions tickets, they are $9 for students and $18 for adults.

District 9 sports passes will be honored.

In the District 4-9 Class AAA tournament, wrestling begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 24 with the quarterfinals on two mats in the Weiss Gymnasium. The first-round consolations, semifinals and second- and third-round consolations will follow.

At 4 p.m., the parade of champions and Hall of Fame ceremony will be held.

The finals and consolation finals will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will be held on two mats.

District 9 sports passes will be honored.

Meals and snacks will be available throughout the tournament in the cafeteria.

The District 9 Committee will award a team trophy and first, second, third and fourth-place medals to individual place-winners at each weight class in AA and AAA.

The Joseph Kata Award for the Outstanding Wrestler in AA and AAA will be presented by the District 9 Committee.

The Coach of the Year Award in AA and AAA will be provided by the District 9 Wrestling Coaches Association.
