| October 24, 2014

CLARION COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – A portion of Clarion County Jail was quarantined because of a scabies outbreak.

According to Clarion County Jail Warden Jeff Hornberger, the jail has received a 100% clearance of scabies.

Warden Hornberger told exploreClarion.com, “The doctor was in this morning, and we are cleared 100%.”

On Saturday, October 18, the jail determined that a few inmates had contracted the scabies infection, and it was determined that the infection was contained to one cell block.

Those inmates were not permitted to have visitors, according to Hornberger.

Hornberger said he contacted the Department of Health to make sure they were taking the proper precautions, and they were told that they went above and beyond the necessary precautions.
