Dolores BargerDolores J. Barger, 85, of Rimersburg passed away at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday December 27, 2016 surrounded by her family.

Born April 19, 1931 in Rimersburg, she was the daughter of John Sr. and Pansy (Hillard) Barr.

Dolores was a 1949 graduate of Union High School.

She married Richard Paul Barger Sr. on January 19, 1951 and he preceded her in death passing on August 18, 1999.

Dolores was primarily a homemaker, but she had been employed at George’s Dairy Farm, Clarion County Transportation and she was a volunteer driver and EMT for the Southern Clarion County Ambulance Service.

Dolores was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Rimersburg.

She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities.

She also enjoyed reading, sharing books with her family and friends, and her Tuesday lunch/bible study group. She is survived by four daughters; Paula Keister and her husband Dennis of Rimersburg, Calla Carmichael and her husband Randy of Rimersburg, Darla Henry and her husband Gary of Rimersburg and Oleva Slaughenhoupt and her husband Chad of Sarver, two sons; Richard Barger Jr. of Rimersburg and Thomas Barger Sr. and his wife Cindy of Rimersburg, 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by a brother Calvin T. Barr of Camp Verde, Arizona, and a sister in law Ailene Milliren of Rimersburg.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dolores was preceded in death by a brother John Barr Jr., a sister Leanore Elder Dunlap and an infant grandson.

Dolores’s family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday December 30, 2016 at the Varner Funeral Home of Rimersburg.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m at the First United Methodist Church in Rimersburg on Saturday December 31, 2016 with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m with the Rev. Dennis Fetter, Pastor of Rimersburg First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Rimersburg Cemetery.

The family suggest memorial donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Rimersburg or the Clarion Cancer Center.
