Dolores HetzlerDolores M. Hetzler, of Big Bend Road, Emlenton, went to be with the Lord Tuesday evening, February 21, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones following a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease and a period of declining health.

Dolores was born on May 5, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Eleanor King Heidel.

Mrs. Hetzler was employed for many years as a registered nurse at Oil City Hospital in the maternity unit, where she witnessed many of her grandchildren being brought into the world.

In her earlier years she enjoyed bowling, ceramic classes, and shopping. She always enjoyed spending time with her family.

Dolores was affiliated with the Big Bend United Methodist Church.

She was married on April 6, 1957 in Blue Island, Illinois to John C. Hetzler, who preceded her in death on October 17, 2006.

Dolores is survived by six daughters, Karen Whitehill, Susan Rhoades, Alison Milford and her husband, Mark, all of Emlenton, Lori Knight of Diamond, OH, Lisa Hempel of Pittsburgh, and Leslie Brison of East Brady; thirteen grandchildren, Neil Whitehill and his wife, Rebecca, Darren Rhoades and his wife, Nicolene, Chase Rhoades and his fiancé, Sarah, Matthew Knight and his wife, Randi, Kelly Knight, Daniel Snyder and Michael, Eric Snyder and his fiancé, Tifani, Alisa Snyder, Marqui Bowser and her husband, Nathan, Emily Milford and her fiance, Matthew, Alexander Brison and his wife, Carissa, Samantha Brison, and Bridget Brison; seven great grandchildren, Jack Whitehill, Olivia Rhoades, Perrie Knight, Joseph Gawlas, Grady Snyder, Mikael Bulisco, and Witten Brison; two sisters-in-law, Kathryn Campbell and her husband, Jerold, and Bonnie Hetzler; a brother-in-law, Glenn Hetzler and his wife, Irene, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many special caregivers she had over the past several years.

In addition to her husband, parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her in-laws, Genevieve and Clarence Hetzler; two sons-in-law, Dan Whitehill and Ron Hempel; a sister-in-law, Judy Borland and her husband, John, and a brother-in-law, Robert Hetzler.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton, from 2 – 4 and 6 — 8 p.m. Friday.

A funeral service will be held from the funeral home Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Randy Kightlinger, Venango County VNA Hospice Chaplain, assisted by the Rev. Gene Lenk, pastor of Big Bend United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow at Rockland Cemetery.
