Deloris R DickersonDolores Rae Dickson, 82 of Franklin, passed away at 9:20 pm on February 14, 2017 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Dolores was born on October 27, 1934 in Philadelphia to the late Raymond and Freda Raaf Smith.

She graduated from Frankford High School in Philadelphia.

Dolores married her loving husband, Richard M. Dickson on March 24, 1956 and he preceded her in death on July 7, 2001.

Dolores worked for many years as a secretary for Venango County Children and Youth Services as well as volunteered at the Franklin Library after her retirement.

She was an avid reader and loved to watch the tennis channel.

Dolores adored her family and was very close with them and loved spending time with them.

She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Franklin.

Dolores is survived by two children, Richard S. Dickson Sr. and his wife Tammy of Franklin and Melissa J. Frank and her husband Peter of Palm Desert, CA, a grandson Richard Dickson Jr. and his wife Hannah of Franklin, a granddaughter Hannah Dickson of Franklin, and a sister Freda “Ruth” Mortimer and her late husband John of Philadelphia.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dolores was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Carol Dickson.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 312 W. Park St., Franklin, where family and friends are welcome from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, February 17.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 18, at the First United Methodist Church, 1102 Liberty St. Franklin, with the Reverend Jeff Little, church pastor, officiating.

Interment will take place in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia.

Dolores’ family would like to give special thanks to the staff of UPMC Northwest 3 South for the exceptional care and support of Dolores and her family.
