Donald ConferDonald L. Confer, 77, a resident of 3383 Lamberton Road, Franklin, died peacefully at 3:06 AM Saturday, March 18, 2017 at UPMC-Hamot in Erie.

He was born July 4, 1939 in Venus, a beloved son of the late: Boston and Lulu Chambers Confer.

He attended Cranberry High School.

Mr. Confer proudly served his country for three years, as a member of the U.S. Army, where he earned rank of SP5 E-5 (T).

Mr. Confer was retired from both Franklin Industries and the former Franklin Steel; where he had worked as a Mill Hand.

He was a member of The Franklin Moose Club and The Venango County Coon and Fox Club.

He was married April 16, 1966 to the former: Anna Marie Siegel; who survives.

In addition to his beloved wife of 50 years, he is survived by two sons: Ty, and his wife Marci of Cooperstown and Stacy, of Franklin. Also surviving are two grandsons: Cody, of Franklin and Trevor, of Cooperstown and a great-granddaughter, Sydney Confer of Franklin.

Also surviving is are two sisters: Gerri Hale of Oil City and Delores Gayetty of Franklin, and a brother, Lyle Confer of Tennessee; in addition to many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Wade Confer and by four sisters: Dorothy Confer, Eleanor Emenhizer, Lucille Amon and Bertha Mae Blauser.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no public visitation.

A memorial service to celebrate his life is being planned by his family and will be held at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk Street, Franklin.
