Donald L. Graham, 76, of Steinbarger Lake, Wawaka, died Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

He was born June 11, 1942, in Oil City, Pennsylvania, to Howard and Elva (Criswell) Graham.

Donald honorably retired from the U.S. Army. He was a paratrooper, having served with the 82nd and 101st Airborne Division.

On February 6, 1970, in Celeron, New York, he married Mary A. Atkins.

He worked in sales with the water industry and previously worked for Flint and Walling in Kendallville as sales manager.

He was a member of the American Legion, DAV, and was a 32nd degree Mason.

Donald loved fishing, hunting, carving, and making jewelry. At the age of 17, he tried out for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Also, he was one of the paratroopers in the movie, The Longest Day.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Graham of Wawaka; three daughters, Tracy (Sam) Cole of Dallesport, Washington, Barbara (John Green) Birt of Wawaka, and Cara (John) Sisson of Wawaka; two sons, Donald (Billie) Graham, Jr. of Seneca, Pennsylvania, and Mark (Debbie Fairbanks) Morton of Jamestown, New York.; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; special brothers, Rick Atkins of Jamestown, New York, and Tim (Cindy) Atkins of Jamestown, New York; a sister-in-law, Donna Russell of Jamestown, New York; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Morton and a sister, Rebecca Delahunty.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 702 Kelly Street Ext., Rome City with Pastor Steve Herendeen officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Honor guard services will be provided by the Veterans Honor Guard and active duty members of the U.S. Army.

Calling is Tuesday, February 26, 2019, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the service.

Preferred memorials are to American Legion Post 86 SAL, 322 South Main Street, Kendallville.

Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville is assisting the family with arrangements.
