Donald L. Vogan

Donald L. Vogan, 86, of Franklin, passed away on March 24, 2018, at UPMC Hamot, Erie.

Born on September 28, 1931, in Franklin, he was the son of the late John and Vernices (Young) Vogan.

Don worked as a Street Foreman for the City of Franklin Sanitation Department.

On May 24, 1952, he married Josephine Lepley who preceded him in death on October 7, 2005.

In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting. Everyone knew how much enjoyed country music shows and traveling with his wife and grandchildren. Don liked to take photos and videos of his beloved family to keep his memory alive. He was also an avid Cleveland Browns fan.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Larry Vogan of Franklin; Cindy Lamont and her husband, Rodney, of Warren, PA, Sharon Orr and her husband, John, of Dayton, TN; his grandchildren, Ed Keener, JR. and his wife Joni of Oil City, Mamie Thomas and her husband, Matt, of Grand Valley, PA, Jamie Orr of Tennessee and Charity Palmer and her husband, Larry, of Tennessee; and his seven grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother, Jack Vogan and his wife, Elizabeth, of South Carolina.

In addition to his parents and wife, Donald was preceded in death by his brother, Dewayne Vogan; his sisters, Shirley Bates and Dorothy Lippert.

Friends are invited to the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday, March 26, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held a the funeral home on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. with Dennis Jones, Retired Hospice Chaplain, officiating.

Interment will be in Peters Cemetery.

The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to Renal Care of Oil City, Inc., 6945 US Route 322, Cranberry, PA 16319.
