Donald Lee “Rooster” Himes, 69, of Brush Street, Brookville, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at home.

Born on July 30, 1944, in Brookville, he was the son of Stewart Vincent Himes and Esther Jane Sprankle Himes

He married Barbara Ann Schrecengost in 1966; she preceded him in death on Feb. 27, 2008.

Donald was a veteran of the US Navy.

He worked various jobs, including working for Byerly Tire of Brookville, Pa., and most recently retiring from Beverage Air in Brookville, Pa., after working for them for over 20 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports.

He is survived by a son David L. Himes (Charlene) of Punxsutawney, Pa., and two daughters, Donna Tressler of Cambridge Springs, Pa., and Rhonda J. Hayes of Punxsutawney, Pa.

He is also survived by two brothers, William V. Himes of Brookville, Pa., and Robert E. Himes of Brookville, Pa.; a sister, Nancy Ohls of Falls Creek, Pa.; and several grandchildren and great-children.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Visitations hours are on Friday, April 18, 2014, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at McKinney Funeral Home located at 345 Main Street in Brookville, Pa.

Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at McKinney Funeral Home with The Rev. Timothy McConville officiating.

Interment will be at Roseville Bethel Cemetery in Union Twp., Jefferson Co., Pa.
