Donna Lee Confer

Donna Lee Confer, age 72, of Tionesta, PA, died on Tuesday morning, May 14, 2019 at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Shippenville, PA. She was born in Bath, ME on November 23, 1946, daughter of the late Lester and Doris (Maines) Carr.

Donna graduated from Morse High School in Bath in the class of 1965. She married her late husband of 34 years, Morris W. “Mo” Confer, at the Tionesta Church of God on May 14, 1966. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2000. Donna was a Licensed Minister and graduated from the Two Year Christian Worker’s Course at C.L. Lane Bible Institute of S.M.E.A. in Transfer, PA on May 17, 1981. She was a member of Word of Grace Full Gospel Fellowship in Tionesta where she served as an Elder. She had previously attended Starr Church of God and Tionesta Church of God. Donna had worked as a switchboard operator while living in Maine. In Pennsylvania, she worked at Sears in Seneca, PA and also in the deli of the former Super Duper in Tionesta. She enjoyed cake decorating and quilting. The pride of Donna’s life were her boys and she adored her many grandchildren.

She is survived by her three sons: William L. Confer and his wife Luisa of Indianapolis, IN; Darren S. Confer and his wife Missi of Franklin, PA; and David R. Confer and his wife Jaime of Vandergrift, PA. Ten grandchildren survive: Cara, Isaac, Alex, Joshua, Isabel, Karissa, Devon, Sami, Elizabeth, and James. Her great granddaughter Ciara. Her brother Donald Carr and his wife Janet of Bath. Several cousins and nieces. Her good friend and neighbor, Marie Lengyel; her aide, Shannon; and her special friend, Jo-Ann C. Mlakar.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, David and William Carr.

Friends will be received from 7-9 P.M. on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta. A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the funeral home with Rev. Jo-Ann C. Mlakar, pastor of Word of Grace Full Gospel Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be beside her husband in Starr Cemetery, Tionesta.
