Doris Jean Shovestull, 85, of Fairmount City (Frogtown), died on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at the Jefferson Manor.

Born on September 14, 1932, in Fairmount City, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Mary (Young) Switzer.

She was married on June 29, 1951, to William W. Shovestull and he preceded her in death on June 28, 2005.

Doris attended the Roseville Church of Christ.

She is survived by four children, Andy Shovestull and his wife Karen of New Oxford, Diane Fiscus and her husband Bill of Sigel, Debbie Illes and her husband Gabe, Jr. of Warren, Ohio, and Chris Shovestull and his wife Bonnie of Fairmount City, eight grandchildren, Leah Ellenberger (Matt) of Leeper, Luke Shovestull (Colleen) of Glenville, Matt Fiscus (Katie) of Corsica, Mark Fiscus (Cat) of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Gabe Illes III (Sarah) of Nebane North Carolina, Katie Prueter (David) of Rocky River, Ohio, Hailey Shovestull and Hope Shovestull both of Fairmount City, nine great-grandchildren, Molly, Maddie, Jackson, Damion, Brianna, Kayden, Parker, Hannah, and Charlotte. She is also survived by a sister, Shirley Weaver of Seneca and a brother, James Switzer and his wife Jo Ann of Clarion.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Switzer and two brothers, Arnold Switzer and Vince Switzer.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn.

The funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor John Kerr officiating.

Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery in Frogtown.
