Doris L. Whitman, 76, of Meadville died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie.

Born, October 18, 1940 in Venango County, she was the daughter of Milton and Ruth Dilley Deeter.

She married Walter Whitman on July 3, 1969 and he preceded her in death on August 14, 1999.

She was a lifelong homemaker, attended the Meadville Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son Randy Whitman and his wife Barbara of Greenville. Three grandchildren, Daniel, Ryan and Jessica Whitman, a sister Patricia Giles of Carlton, a brother Richard Deeter and his fiancée Laurie Scutella of Erie and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Donna Fetterolf and a brother Eugene Deeter.

Friends and family will be received at the DICKSON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 123 S. Franklin St. Cochranton on Saturday, March 18, 2107 from 11:00am until 1:00pm.

The will follow at 1:00pm with the Rev. Paul Houseworth of the Meadville Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Peters Cemetery, Canal Township, Venango County.
