Dorothy H. McGinley, 87, formerly of Clarion and a resident of Laurel Brooke Landing Personal Care in Brookville, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017.
Dorothy was born on July 22, 1930, to the late Michael and Helen Elizabeth (Fabian) Gulish in Punxsutawney, PA.
Dorothy was married on August 31, 1953, to John F. McGinley and he preceded her in death on March 6, 1973.
Dorothy worked for many years at Comet Market in Clarion, retiring in 1995.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion.
Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her children and she cherished visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed Birthday lunches with her girl friends and attending mass.
Dorothy loved flowers and enjoyed working in her flower beds and putting puzzles together.
She loved cooking and baking; her chocolate chip cookies were a favorite amongst her grandchildren.
She would also look forward traveling to North Carolina to visit family.
Dorothy is survived by her six children, John McGinley of Denver, NC, Marsha Penner and husband Chuck, of Charlotte, NC, Lori McGinley of Charlotte, NC, Mark McGinley and wife Robin, of Clarion, Melanie Raybuck and husband Don, of New Bethlehem, and Chuck McGinley and wife Melony, of Lincolnton, NC.
She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, JR McGinley (Liz), Amy Jo Harlan and husband Wade, Andrea Neiswonger (Dave), Justin McGinley (Tammi), Paul McGinley, Nathan Raybuck and wife Kara, Ryan Raybuck and wife Kristin, Jake McGinley, and Lindsey McGinley; and her nine great-grandchildren, Heidi Harlan, Keegan Harlan, Kingston Danner, Alex McGinley, Livia McGinley, Markie Raybuck, Keldon Raybuck, Gracelynn Raybuck, and Peyton Raybuck.
In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a brother, Michael E. Gulish, and a granddaughter Kelley Raybuck.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Dorothy’s name to WRC Senior Services, Laurel Brooke Landing, 133 Laurel Brooke Drive, Brookville PA 15825.
Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home & Crematory, 330 Wood Street, Clarion, where visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday.
A Christian wake service will be held at 3:30 p.m. that day.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Immaculate Conception Church, 715 Main Street, Clarion, with Father Samuel Bungo officiating.
Interment will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Clarion.
