Dorothy Marie Smith, 73, life long Oil City resident passed away Friday February 16, 2018, after a period of declining health at Oil City Healthcare and Rehab.

Born in Oil City, PA, on April 16, 1944, daughter of the late Harry and Geraldine Miller Evans.

She attended Lincoln Elementary and was a 1962 graduate of Oil City Senior High School.

Her working career started with a few years of service at Grandview Healthcare. She then went on to become a M.R.A. at Polk Center for 25 years, until a disability forced her into early retirement.

She was a lifelong member of the Oil City Salvation Army. She enjoyed coloring and playing bingo.

Dorothy is survived by a son Michael Smith of Oil City. Also surviving is a sister, Judy McDonald of Nashville, TN; a brother Lawrence Evans of Garden City, SC; grandchildren, Denise Osborn, Thomas Walsh, and Zachary Walsh; a daughter-in-law, Judith Allen; and many adopted children.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her former husband Vance LeRoy Smith.

There will be a visitation at the Oil City Salvation Army Thursday February 22 at 10:00 a.m. until noon. The Funeral Service will follow at noon. Interment will follow in Peters Cemetery.
